Defining an Optimal Mode of Curing of Epoxy–Amine Systems by TTT Diagrams

Abstract

The data from differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic light scattering, rheoviscometry, and gelsol analysis are used to construct TTT diagrams for curing epoxy–amine systems, which are able to transform into a glassy state upon isothermal curing. Using these diagrams, a new method is suggested for calculation of an optimal mode of curing, which includes two isothermal steps, namely, precuring and postcuring. The use of this mode of process performance allows one to obtain fully cured epoxy–amine samples with stable properties.
