Abstract

Interaction of tri-p-tolylbismuth with bromine in carbon tetrachloride has yielded tri-p-tolylbismuth dibromide. According to X-ray diffraction studies, bismuth atoms in both symmetrically independent dibromide molecules were in distorted trigonal bipyramid surrounding with equatorial aryl substituents.
