Abstract

The temperature dependence of the dark conductivity in a series of doped and nominally undoped LiNbO3 crystals of congruent composition is studied. The activation energies for the ionic and electronic contributions to the dark conductivity are determined, and the H+, ion diffusion coefficient is estimated. The correlation between the ionic and electronic contributions to the dark conductivity is established.
