Abstract
The dichloride complexes of Au(III), Pt(II), and Pd(II) with 2,2′-biquinoline are obtained and characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy, electronic spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. It is shown that the low efficiency of the metal-ligand (2,2′-biquinoline) interaction leads to almost the same positions of the intraligand bands in the absorption and fluorescence spectra of the complexes and to the closeness of their reduction potentials.
