The structure of ovipositors in higher oribatid mites (Acari, Oribatida, Brachypylina)

Abstract

Specific features of the morphology of the ovipositor (general shape, size, proportions, chaetome, etc.) were studied in 60 species of higher oribatid mites. The characteristics which can be used for identification of supraspecific taxa are distinguished.
