Abstract

Illustrated descriptions and data on the host plants and distribution of five species of the genus Macropsidius from European Russia and M. dispar, which was believed to be widespread throughout the western half of the Palaearctic Region, are given. Oscillograms of the male calling signals of four species are presented. M. serratus Logvinenko, 1965 and M. variabilis Mityaev, 1971 are synonymized with M. involutus Dlabola, 1963. M. compactus is recorded in the territory of Russia for the first time. The range of M. dispar includes only Spain and southern France; records from other regions are apparently erroneous.
