Abstract
The paper presents data on the biological invasions of fish species into the reservoirs of the Angara River, including the history of introduction, range expansion, and naturalization of alien species. The basic vectors of the invasion and the possibilities of fish surmounting the dams of the Angara River are described. The analysis of colonization dynamics by the new species of the natural ecosystems is given. The economic activity and its consequences are the major factors of the shifts in ichthyofauna. Taking into account the economic importance of several alien species and ample abundance of food stocks in the reservoirs, the possibility of using some invaders as commercial self-maintaining species to increase the productivity of the reservoirs is discussed.
