Abstract
Organoboron nanoparticles (C2B10H4) n with weight-average sizes of 8.3, 10.6, and 15.3 nm are synthesized from carborane C2B10H12 by high-temperature pyrolysis of its vapor. The dependence of the weight-average particle size on the temperature and initial carborane vapor pressure of the synthesis is obtained.
