Abstract

The kinetics of growth of a new nanosized phase in a binary diffusion couple during isothermal annealing has been investigated with allowance made for the size dependence of kinetic coefficients. It has been demonstrated using this approach that the exponent of the growth rate of the new phase can be non-monotonic in time and that the growth of the new phase at intermediate stages can be either retarded or accelerated.
