Abstract

The process of Λ-baryon production in πp collisions is considered. The contribution of the string-junction mechanism to the strange-baryon production in meson-baryon scattering is analyzed. The results of numerical calculations in the framework of the quark-gluon string model are in reasonable agreement with the data.
