The hydrography, evolution, and hydrological regime of the mouth area of the Shatt al-Arab River

Water Resources Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

The hydrography, evolution, landscapes, and hydrological regime of the mouth area of the Shatt al-Arab River—the terminal part of the channel system of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers—are considered. The effect of natural and anthropogenic changes in the Euphrates and Tigris regime and the regime of the Persian Gulf of the Indian Ocean is evaluated.
