Abstrac

The prospects of using crystals in photonics are discussed. Primary attention is focused on one of the topical problems of photonics—creation of sources of laser radiation with given wavelengths. Recent advances in the development of crystals for tunable lasers, as well as for the transformation of the radiation spectrum by means of the stimulated Raman scattering, are discussed.
