Abstract
The effect of thermal annealing on properties of carbon films deposited on nickel electrodes by the electrodeposition method was studied. It has been shown that annealing at a temperature of 300°C results in the formation of nanosize diamond clusters. With an increase in the annealing temperature, the size of diamond clusters diminishes. At an annealing temperature of 900°C, all of the carbon enters into reaction with nickel, thus forming nickel carbide.
