Abstract

A re-description of Simpulopsis decussata is given based on 68 specimens collected in 2003 from Pelotas, in Rio Grande do Sul State, in the south of Brazil, and on the holotype specimen deposited in the British Museum. Conchological characters as well as features of the reproductive system and radula are described. The species is compared to other Simpulopsis species and differences to related species are outlined.
