Abstract

Miocene brachiopods from the Monzi Formation of Zululand are described for the first time. The fauna comprises Terebratulina savagei sp. nov., T. cf. hataiana Cooper, 1973c, T. cf. suessi (Hutton, 1873), Agulhasia densicostata Cooper, 1988, Megerlina lesterkingi sp. nov., Megerlina cf. natalensis (Krauss, 1848) and Calloria? hilleri sp. nov. Deposition was in a back-barrier lagoonal environment, as part of a temperate-water foramol association.
