Bohlin Instruments Ltd, Cirencester, UK, reports that it has acquired the rheology product lines of Rosand Precision Ltd, together with the Rosand trademark.

The product lines included in the arrangement are the RH7 and RH2000 capillary rheometers as well as melt flow index products, on-line rheology products and VICAT softening point equipment.

Bohlin will market the products, which will retain the Rosand brand, through its existing sales channels including direct operations in Germany and the USA, as well as the UK.

Bohlin's management expects that the acquisition will add substantially to revenues in 2001, which have been rising by over 20 per cent per annum based on organic growth.

Bohlin Group's managing director, Dr Richard Hall, commented: "The Rosand product lines are entirely complementary to Bohlin's ongoing business activity which is focused on rotational rheometers. Indeed, the Rosand product line has contributed significantly to our German revenues since we started to act as a distributor in 1996. The move serves to reinforce our position as a major global player in the rheology business."
