Launch of new IDM/Royal Mail Education Modules

Sir Michael Heron, chairman of the Council for Industry and Higher Education (CIHE) and Adam Novak, managing director, Royal Mail Media Markets, have launched the new Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM)/Royal Mail Education Modules in central London.

The four modules, written by Graeme McCorkell, are distributed free to qualifying lecturers and professors of marketing in the UK. It is just one of the services provided by the Institute to academics as part of the overall education programme.

Sir Michael Heron, who is also the former Chairman of the Post Office, says: "The links between industry and academia are now a necessary component of success in both areas. These modules provide this vital link for the direct marketing fraternity, and will no doubt produce a number of industry-ready graduates for the burgeoning sector."

Matthew Housden, Head of Marketing at Greenwich University, says: "These modules provide a valuable and positive contribution to direct marketing education and training".

Tony Aldred, Senior Lecturer at Huddersfield University Business School, adds: "The new case materials, quality slides and commentary offer tutors ready-made programmes for use in integrated marketing communications, or as a stand-alone direct course."
