UNEP recently launched its fifth annual report on the changing global environment – Year Book 2008. This year’s focus is the emerging Green Economy and its influence on the increasingly complex interconnections of climate change, ecosystem integrity and human wellbeing. The book explores the economic mechanisms and market-driven approaches that are currently used to address environmental degradation, and stresses the need for greater investments in climate and energy research, knowledge partnerships and global political responses to meet the serious challenges posed by global climate change.
