Unsaturated polyester putties for motor body repair
Abstract
The predecessors of UP‐putty were synthetic resin putties based on short‐ or medium oil alkyd resins or nitrocombination‐putties. According to the alkyd resin modification, very short drying periods and relatively quick sanding capacity were achieved. But the demands for good and quick sanding capacity, even in thick layers, and at low drying temperature as well as the requirements for trouble free application of top‐coats, could not be completely satisfied with putties based on alkyd resins.
