BSI Product Services have awarded Circast Electronics of Leamington Spa Europe's first CECC Capability Approval certificate, which includes the manufacture of PCB's featuring controlled impedance.

Circast has been a specialist in this area for several years and have developed their own software which predicts the final impedance of PCB's prior to manufacture. This enables great control and accuracy of the impedance outcome and is based on known results from hundreds of manufactured batches.

Achieving the accolade of being the first to gain this approval is a highlight for all of the hard working staff at Circast that have contributed to the process control and overall capability to offer customers the accuracy needed. Circast have held capability approval with BSI since February 1980.

The award is also appropriate considering that Circast hosted the PCIF April Project meetings which drafted the requirements in the approval specification; BS CECC 23300-003.

The company recently manufactured a large 22 layer board with 100micron track/gap and achieved impedance results of 50 ohms within a 5 percent spread accuracy.
