Saab Avionics reports that it has received an order from Eurocopter Deutschland for development and delivery of a complete self-protection electronic warfare suite for the new Swedish multi-role helicopter, the NH90 from NHIndustries.
The EW-suite will include a counter measures dispensing system and a multi-sensor warning system providing aircrew warning and protection from radar, laser and passive heat seeking missile threats.
At the end of last year Saab and NHIndustries signed a contract regarding the development and production of a tactical mission system (TSM) for the new Swedish helicopter at a value of around SEK2 billion.
