Abstract

The g factor of the 8+ state of Ra214 (T12=67μsec) has been determined to be g=0.88±0.01 by the in-beam γ-ray NMR method. The blocking effect of the [π1121πh92]1+ - type core polarization on g factors of πh92n states is investigated. The observed blocking effect is much less than the theoretical expectation, implying that the correction to the g factor of the πh92 state because of [πh1121πh92] 1+ excitation is comparable with that because of [νi1321νi112] 1+.
