Double-beta decay and a massive Majorana neutrino

Abstract

We consider the possibility that nuclear no-neutrino double-beta decay is mediated by a universally coupled heavy Majorana electron neutrino. From the known rates of nuclear double-beta decays we conclude that the mass of this neutrino must be at least 104 GeV.
