Abstract
A model calculation of the mobility of a positive ion in the presence of atoms condensed on a vortex core is presented. Reasonable qualitative and quantitative agreement between theory and experiment is obtained and reasons for differences are discussed. A reason for the larger mobility of the negative ion in comparison to the smaller positive ion is suggested. The contribution of vortex waves to the scattering of ions is commented on.
