Abstract

The decay JψBB¯ is computed in lowest order in perturbative QCD, modeling the baryon with a quark—scalar-diquark system where the two constituents are assumed to have, respectively, an effective mass of one-third and two-thirds of the baryon mass. Using a very simple nonrelativistic model, a satisfactory agreement with the data, regarding angular distributions of the baryons emitted, is obtained. Predictions are given for other heavy vector meson decays into baryon-antibaryon pairs.
