Abstract

We discuss the formalism needed to extract transport coefficients from SU(3) gluon thermodynamics on Euclidean lattices. These can be obtained from analytic continuations of thermal correlation functions of the energy-momentum tensor. The feasibility of such a procedure is analyzed. A Monte Carlo simulation on an 83×4 lattice has been performed as a first attempt to study the behavior of thermal correlation functions of the energy-momentum tensor. The results are compared with analytic calculations of transport coefficients in the collision-time approximation.
