Abstract
Magnetoplasma excitations in two-dimensional electron rings are studied using a hydrodynamic theory based on the Thomas-Fermi-Dirac-von Weizsäcker approximation to the electronic ground state. This system is found to support a rich spectrum of excitations including bulk and edge magnetoplasmons. Good agreement between theory and experiment is found with respect to the magnetic-field dispersion of the modes and their dependence on the ratio of the inner to outer ring diameters.
