Abstract

The kinetic growth of an interface in a two-spin facilitated Ising model is analyzed by numerical simulations. In contrast to the usual Eden model, a new nonuniversal short-time behavior is detected. For larger times a crossover to the universality of the Eden model takes place. It is shown that the bulk density and the evolution of the roughness of the interface are mainly determined by a characteristic length ξkin, which is closely connected to the correlation length ξ of the glass phase. The velocity of the interface can be described by a WLF-like behavior.
