Abstract

Phonon dispersion curves for three Ta-W alloys were determined by inelastic-neutron-scattering techniques. Characteristic features in these curves correspond to those found in theoretically developed dispersion curves in the Nb-Mo system. Bornvon Kármán constants were obtained from the dispersion data, and the phonon density of states was derived from these constants.
