Abstract

The theoretical shape of the electromagnetic absorption edge in superconducting alloys is calculated. The results agree with the experimental data better than those which have been calculated much more easily by assuming the alloys are in the Pippard limit or the London limit. Nevertheless, the experimental absorption edges are somewhat steeper than the calculated ones.
