Abstract

The number and population of Ta sites in the charge-density-wave state of 2H-TaS2 were determined at 1.5 K in magnetic fields up to 0.7 T by the method of time-differential perturbed angular correlation on Ta181. At 0.35 T a field-induced phase transition is observed, indicating for the first time the coexistence of charge- and spin-density waves in a two-dimensional material.
