The free decay of a turbulent field in superfluid ${}_{}{}^4{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{He}$ is studied by using pulsed-ion techniques. The decay process is found to exhibit strikingly simple behavior. Analysis of the results indicated that current theoretical models need further refinement.
