Abstract

It is found that nonspectator interactions between c and d quarks in the Λc+ give a substantial enhancement of its decay rate. The lifetime relation τ(Λc+)τ(D+)=[1+τ(D+)(3×1013 s)]1 is derived, based on the assumption that the D+ decays purely via charm quark decay. The semileptonic branching fractions are related by Bl(Λc+)=Bl(D+)×τ(Λc+)τ(D+).
