Abstract
Infrared measurements reveal the existence of summation bands at 32 and 293 above the main stretching band in KCl: KOH. The 32- level correlates well with a 14°K depression in thermal conductivity curves which also suggest phonon scattering off tunneling levels. These results are inconsistent with the predictions of the Devonshire model.
