Abstract
Magnetic monopoles may be properly introduced in a Lorentz- and -violating electrodynamics in whenever it is accompanied by the induction of an additional electric current, whose strength is proportional to the breaking parameter, . The reduced model is similar to the Maxwell-Chern-Simons model in , with a Dirac-like object, so that in this case the mass parameter appears quantized. In addition, the electromagnetic force experienced by a magnetic pole bears an extra term, depending on , in comparison to its counterpart acting upon an electric charge.
