Abstract

The hyperfine structure of the radioactive isotope175Hf has been measured by means of laser spectroscopy. The magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments of175Hf are determined: μI=-0.62(3)μN and Qs=+2.6(2) b; the sign of μI has been shown to be negative. It has been shown that175Hf has almost the same nuclear charge radius as174Hf.
