Abstract
A method for the calculation of isomer ratios in reactions in which the compound nucleus decays by the emission of a few particles followed by emission is presented. It is shown that the calculated value of the isomer ratio is sensitive to the spin cutoff parameter, the amount of quadrupole admixture in the -ray cascade, and the presence of discrete levels. In most cases good agreement between experimentally measured and calculated values of isomer ratios is obtained.
