Abstract

High spin states in Zn62 have been observed using the Ca40(Si28, α2pγ)Zn62 reaction at beam energies of 93.5 and 102 MeV. γγ coincidence measurements, angular distributions, and directional correlation of oriented nuclei ratios were used to determine a likely decay scheme. Levels with probable spin as high as J=12 have been observed.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Ca40(Si28, α2pγ) 93.5 and 102 MeV: measured Eγ, σ(Eγ,θ), γγ coincidence. Zn62 deduced Ex, J, π decay scheme.
