Abstract
It is proved that the generalized Veneziano representation, expressed as a sum of terms of the Veneziano type, is the unique dynamical solution for a relativistic scattering amplitude which satisfies analyticity, crossing symmetry, and the specific dynamical assumption of the narrow-resonance approximation with resonances lying on linear trajectories.
