Abstract

To improve the performance of the Agricultural machinery, several composite materials were suggested as replacements of critical fast-wearing steel parts. Three possible replacements were selected (PA6E, PA6G, and PA66GF30) and examined by a pin-on-plate system with sliding abrasive cloths. The results were compared according to the pin-on-plate system with a combined property (H/E) of these materials. Then to see how the friction affected these specimens, 3D microscopic photos of the worn surfaces were taken. As results, an inverse relationship between the wear rate and H/E property for these materials, an increasing of H/E factor leads to a decrease in the wear rate. While for the 3D microscopic PA6G was the most outstanding worn surface.
