Abstract
In order to improve the technical properties of SBS modified asphalt, firstly, nano-CaCO3/SBS modified asphalt with nano-CaCO3 dosage of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% and 6% were prepared, while the optimal nano-CaCO3 dosage was optimized by conventional laboratory experiments. Secondly, the pavement performance of SBS modified asphalt mixture and nano-CaCO3/SBS modified asphalt mixture was analyzed by relevant laboratory tests. The experimental results show that nano-CaCO3/SBS modified asphalt achieves the best performance when nano-CaCO3 dosage is 4%. Compared with SBS modified asphalt mixture, the high-temperature performance, water stability, indirect tensile strength and fatigue resistance of nano-CaCO3/SBS modified asphalt mixture are improved obviously, and the crack resistance at low-temperature is slightly decreased, but it still far meets the specification requirement. This indicates that it is possible to enhance the property of SBS modified asphalt and the performance of mixture by adding nano-CaCO3.
