The author shows that the 'hull percolation' problem considered recently by Roux et al. (1988) is in one-to-one correspondence with standard bond percolation. Their random tiling of the plane by squares with circles is identical with the Baxter-Kelland-Wu polygon decomposition associated with clusters of the Q-state Potts model, which in the Q to 1 limit gives percolation.
