Abstract

A description is given of a microprocessor-based device for controlling magnetic field gradients in three dimensions, including the design logic, the interface to a minicomputer and a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, and the mathematical basis for a two-stage reconstruction method that may be implemented with such a controller. Two examples of the resulting complete 3D nuclear magnetic resonance zeugmatographic images are presented as sets of thin slices or tomograms.
