Electron scattering from Kr. II. Differential cross sections for the 5s(11/2)1 and 5s'(01/2)1 excitations

Abstract

Differential cross sections have been determined for the 5s(11/2)1 and 5s'(01/2)1 excitations of Kr using a crossed-beam method. The measurements were carried out in the angular range 10-125' at impact energies of 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80 eV. The inelastic scattering cross sections were normalised to the absolute differential cross sections for elastic scattering. Differential magnetic sublevel cross sections have also been determined for the first time at impact energies of 40, 50, 60 and 80 eV and scattering angles of 10', 15', 20', 25' and 30' with the help of previously measured lambda parameters.
