Abstract
The alternating field, hysteretic power losses in strongly pinned superconducting spheres and spheroids are studied within the Bean-London Model. Analytic solutions for small flux penetration and numerical determination for arbitrary applied field are presented. By changing the eccentricity, geometries from needles to flat discs may be analyzed.
