Abstract
Self-consistent Hartree-Fock and RPA calculations with the Skyrme-type interaction SGII have been used for a systematic study of the nuclear response function and the identification of spin-independent natural-parity vibrational states with lambda <or=3 in 40Ca and lambda <or=5 in 208Pb. Transition densities, convection currents and velocity fields are calculated and displayed for various collective states.
