Abstract

Toya's theory (1958) for electron-phonon matrix elements, previously derived for cubic metals, has been extended to study the phonon frequencies of the hexagonal metals Be, Mg and Zn, by incorporating a better correlation effect in the screening factor and a comparative study of phonon frequencies has been made using Toya's screening and modified screening functions.
