Geometric description of energy-momentum pseudotensors

Abstract

It is shown that the energy-momentum pseudotensors of Einstein and Landau-Lifschitz are the components of pullbacks of the Sparling 3-form from the bundle of linear frames. This 3-form is not tensorial, which explains the behaviour of the pseudotensors under coordinate transformations.
