ABSTRACT

It is suggested that if early-type Beta Cephei variables are pulsating nonradially, then electron scattering should produce a varying net polarization. This should be observable in at least some stars in the near or far UV. Computations are presented which show that for BW Vul the total amplitude may be as great as 0.03%. An observing program is proposed.
