ABSTRACT

Radial velocity measurements from 11 coude' spectrograrns are used to derive the orbital elements of this double-line spectroscopic binary. The period is the shortest known for a Mn star, P = 3d42981, the masses are i sin3 i = 1.8 , 2 sin3 i = 1.5 , and the luminosity ratio estimated from line strengths is 0.64. Mercury is found in the spectra of both stars, but manganese is definitely present ouly in the primary. Key words: peculiar A stars - spectroscopic binaries
